Opus Bistro, Bangsar

Looking places for special occasion? Opus Bistro should be on your list of restaurant to consider. Opus, a little bistro located at The Bangkung Row with arguably one of the best Italian food in town.
At Opus, you can experience the spirit of Italy.

Complimentary bread is served, just as other fine dining or casual fine dining restaurant.
Soft, fragrant and lightly toasted bread, served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
The bread is too good, one basket is definitely not enough.

Our second basket(I told you so!!)

Next is the antipasto we ordered.

Grilled Scallops with Rocket salad (RM20)
Perfectly grilled scallops on shell, served with rocket salad and shredded cheese.

Both of us love this :)

Roasted Cod with White Wine sauce (RM58)
Opus customer’s all time favourite with choice of either lemon capers sauce or white wine
sauce
This fresh and flaky cod is served on bed of steamed veggie. We opted for the White wine sauce which goes quite well with the texture of cod. Recommended!!

Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Smoked Duck(RM32)
Ryan ordered his favourite spaghetti aglio olio with smoked duck. Said the smoked duck was heavenly good.

My valentine's gift

Chocolate Desire (RM20)
Baked Chocolate Cake with single scoop of vanilla ice cream

The best molten lava I've ever had! The chocolate cake wasn't very sweet, so it just goes well with the sweet chocolate lava. Since the cake is served warm, it is really nice to have it together with the ice cream. Indulged!

Advice: During your visit, please remember to save some stomach space for their homemade dolci(dessert)!

Cappuccino by Bristot (RM9)
And we finished our meal with a cup of cappuccino.

Vino Cono Sur-Tocornal Sauvignon Blanc(Chile) 2009 (RM22)

Happy Valentine''s Day to you!

El Cerdo, Nose to Tail Eating!

It was Sunday. We old school friends gathered as planned. After movie(Journey to A Mysterious Island) with Erika and Yoke Ying at Pavillion, we headed to El Cerdo, Changkat Bukit Bintang to meet up the others. Have my car parked, I walked towards the restaurant. The moment I stepped into this place, I was welcomed by the host with warm greeting and had her to lead me to the seat, so the first impression was pretty good. While waiting for others, three of us did what we are supposed to. Erika busy checking us in on Facebook, I was busy snapping pictures then.

The menu, which acts as a communication tool between the restaurateur and guests.
Mm just a second, what do you see from the cover?
Yeah, you're right! What else if not pork at Werner's place.

We were served with complimentary bread. Soft and simply delicious.

General serving of pig liver pate, to go with the complimentary bread
It's seriously finger licking good!

Next, the MUST HAVE item in the house.
I repeat ya, MUST HAVE.
Jamón Serrano- Spanish Cured & Air Dried Ham served on Rock Melon and Salad.
So heavenly good...
The flavoursome and salty ham is just nice to eat with the sweet and juicy rock melon.

Variety of homemade sausages served with Sauerkraut and mashed potato.
Recommended by the staff. Generally it's nice and we get to taste every type of sausages in the house.

One of my favourite item at El Cerdo - Pork Shoulder Steak. Tender and perfectly grilled.

The porky hook for your bad, ladies

Specialty Crispy Suckling Pig in White Wine Sauce.
Specialty of the month!
But I found Crispy Suckling Pig is still the best

And we have a birthday baby in the house

Binz with his Andreas Special "A dream in Chocolate"
